The foundation 'Revival Of The Flyer' will take the care of the maintaining and exploitation of this historic ship.

Foundation 'Revival of the Flyer'

The foundation 'Revival Of The Flyer' was founded in 2014 and bought The Flyer, the legendary yacht that has won The Whitbread Round The World Race with skipper Conny van Rietschoten in 1978.

At this moment the yacht has a different name, Alaska Eagle. There are a number of adjustments made to the yacht, whereby it can no longer be recognizes as The Flyer. The foundation's idealistic goal is to restore the ship to its original condition and maintain her as Dutch maritime cultural heritage. To achieve this goal, sponsors and donations need to be attracted/ accomplished and the ship will be used during events, regattas and charities.
